Classics

There are some books that just never go out of style. If you are like me... in high-school, you are given a chance to read these books but like I said, it's high-school.. so you do not read them, or you only read enough to finish the assignment given to you, or you read a book synopsis and think that it is as good as reading it. Then you get a little older and begin to read some more and you decide to just go ahead and attempt to read the book again because you want to see why people still talk about how amazing it is. After really reading it you find that you were wrong all along and should have listened to your high-school teacher to begin with!

Here are some of my favorite classics now, that I refused to read in high-school:

1. Fahrenheit 451 by: Ray Bradbury.
This is such an amazing book! It takes you to a whole new world where books are illegal and firefighters jobs are now to burn any and all books and the houses containing the books. It is a dystopian novel (my favorite!). It shows you just how far people would go to get their hands on books and tell the world about them, and also how far the people in charge will go to maintain order.

2. The Great Gatsby by: F. Scott Fitzgerald
This takes you back to the 1920 jazz days, where an old man, Mr. Gatsby, loves to throw parties for people, but hardly makes an appearance. He is a very mysterious man who is in love with a woman named Daisy Buchanan.

3. Jane Eyre by: Charlotte Bronte
A young woman named Jane is raised with a horrible aunt, until the aunt sends her off to a private school. Here Jane grown into a woman of her own until she is hired on at an estate. Jane is unlike anyone that the master of the estate has ever met. The master seems to be a very cold person, but you watch him develop as a character in this book. This is a story of a love hate relationship between the master and Jane.

4. Pride and Prejudice by: Jane Austen
An odd romance between a cruel young man, and a free spirited young woman. Taking you through all of the ups and downs and the love and hate. This is a witty comedy along with a historical romance all in one great story.

The Fault In Our Stars

Wow! Talk about an emotional roller coaster! I went from laughing out loud, to crying, to just plain happy in this book. The whole time I was so all over the place!

This is such an amazing story! This author, John Green, is simply spectacular in writing. I felt so connected to the characters and was rooting for them the whole time.

I truly do not have anything bad to say about this book! I had such a hard time putting this book down because I wanted to know what would happen to these characters I had begun to love as I read through this book!

This book is at an average of 5 out of 5 stars on all of the websites that I have been to! IT IS THAT GOOD!
I recommend to everyone!

Amazon's Book Description:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.
Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Perks of Being A Wallflower

This book is so amazing! When I was a sophomore in high-school, a friend of mine told me that one day this book was going to be huge. I always meant to read the book but I eventually forgot about it. Sure enough he was right about the book. Now, I did not only read this book because it is not famous and a major motion picture. I do however have a rule, I must read the book before watching the movie NO MATTER WHAT! So I remembered the name of this book that I was told about a while ago and I am so happy to have been reminded! Just simply amazing and not what I expected at all!

Taking you inside a world of misfit kids coming together to make each other feel apart of something. Written as a series of letters from the main character Charlie, this book takes you through his perspective in high-school.

This book is such a unique story.

There is just one thing I always find myself asking. WHO WAS HE WRITING THE LETTERS TO?

I would love to know the answer to that question!! I know that is not the point to the story and that is not even a significant part to it but I just can not let it go!

Now, this book has been turned into a major motion picture! I have not yet seen this movie, but I have heard only good things about it! On rotten tomatoes the audience rated the movie 95% and the over all ratings by critics included was a 86%. I say overall that is pretty dang good!

Pitch Perfect!

OH MY GOSH! I loved it! this was such a funny and awesome movie! The singing and everything was so cool! I love how they can make all the music themselves! And I could not stop laughing! Such a good fun movie! It was like a mix between Glee and Bridesmaids!

I enjoyed the singing so much that I bought the soundtrack in the car ride home from the movie!

My favorite girl character was Amy! She was the funniest one of them all! You may recognize her from bridesmaids:

In this movie she is even funnier!

My favorite guy character was, of course, Jesse. He is the main guy character and his personality is just amazing! Plus talk about amazing singing that makes him even sexier than he already is!

Also, another hilarious character was someone you may recognize from Workaholics!
This guy was cracking me up as well! And surprisingly can sing too!

All in all this movie was 4.5 out of 5!
